Exhibition Stands

We design and build creative exhibition stands, combining custom build and modular components to deliver stands that are flexible, cost effective and sustainable.

o   Highly creative stands, designed in-house, with proposals free of charge.
o   The finish and aesthetics of a custom build stand at a lower cost.
o   Exceptionally cost effective for multi-use and large stands.
o   Flexible, first-class, personal service.
o   Unrivalled sustainability.

Advantageous for individual stands, benefits are nevertheless maximised where stands are re-used on a number of occasions, which is why we are often chosen to manage exhibition programmes and roadshows for international brands.

You’ll find lots of examples of our space only stands in the case studies below. If you have a project to discuss, please don’t hesitate to contact us by phone, email, or the call back form below.

We tailor each stand to your individual specification, design aspirations, and budget.

With a background in marketing communication, we know how to ensure your stand is vibrant and brand aligned and that it will make effective use of the exhibition channel.

We’ll work closely with you to ensure we get all elements just right before preparing floor plans and visuals along with a detailed budget, for discussion and ultimate approval.

Designs are free and without obligation so why not get in touch today?

Our service is designed to make space only exhibiting as straight forward as possible, covering design, full project management, artwork, graphics, construction, transport and logistics.

We also manage exhibition programmes for multi-show exhibitors, building and storing exhibition stands that can be re-used and re-configured for different sizes and locations.

We share many of our client’s frustrations at the cost of exhibitions and events and do all we can to help minimise costs.

Combining custom build and modular components means our stands and environments typically require less labour, material and refurbishment than traditional ones, and the bigger they are, or the more times they are used, the greater the savings become.

And whilst we are most cost effective when building larger stands, event environments, or multi-use roadshow programmes, we’re also surprisingly competitive for smaller stands.

Many costs our clients pay though, are from third parties. We seek to drive these down wherever possible, and show them clearly on our quotations and invoices.

However the costs arise, you’ll find our pricing transparent and competitive, and our quotations detailed and fully inclusive.

Open Exhibitions is dedicated to delivering stands that are uniquely flexible, cost effective and sustainable, and which comply with the principles of international standard ISO 20121.

So what is ISO 20121?

ISO 20121 specifies the requirements for an Event Sustainability Management System to improve the sustainability of events. It is designed to help organisations in the events industry to improve the sustainability of their event related activities, products and services.

ISO 20121 is based on the earlier British Standard called ‘BS 8901 Specification for a Sustainability Management System for Events’ which was first developed in 2007.

How does Open Exhibitions comply with the principles of ISO 20121?

ISO 20121 explains that sustainability is about how an organisation runs its activities in a commercially successful way whilst contributing towards a stronger and more just society and reducing its impact on the environment.

ISO 20121 challenges “business as usual” and drives creativity and innovation, (Open’s founding principles), an approach that’s reflected in our unique stands that deliver exceptional levels of sustainability and reusability to meet the needs of both the present and future generations. The following looks at the sustainability of each element of our stands in more detail.

Lightweight, Strong & Infinitely Recyclable

Open Exhibitions stands are completely clad with panels to give unique, clean, and modern aesthetics. Behind the cladding though lies an aluminium sub-frame. As the world strives for a more fuel-efficient future, aluminium is a big part of the solution. Lightweight, strong and infinitely recyclable, aluminium is the most naturally occurring metal on the planet and its low weight significantly reduces energy costs and carbon emissions.

Recent technological advances and voluntary environmental efforts also mean that aluminium is more sustainable today than ever before. Energy required to produce new aluminium is down more than a quarter since 1995 and the industry’s carbon footprint is down nearly 40 percent.

The clever design of Open stands whereby the aluminium is not visible means the sub-frame has over double the usable life of any other comparative component. Further, when it does come time to be re-cycled, they are 100 percent recyclable into new components.

Clean, Flexible, Long-Life Materials

Open Exhibitions stands are clad primarily with Dibond and Dilite panels to give a unique, clean, modern surface that is an ideal base for the application of graphics, and unlike the use of foamex or wooden panels in traditional stand construction (which have short lifespans due to fragility), our Dibond and Dilite combines light weight with a long life cycle, being strong aluminium composite panels with a polyethylene core.

These high quality yet economic decorative panels can be rolled to form curved as well as straight walling, and their production sites have been certified in accordance with ISO 9001 / EN 14001, the globally recognised standard for environmental management systems.

All lacquer recipes used for standard and special colours have been tested and approved by an independent institute to not contain any heavy metals and at the end of their life, in order to re-use the valuable raw materials aluminium and polyethylene, the aluminium sheets are completely separated from the PE core in a special technical process.

Sustainable Sourcing of Bespoke Components

Sustainable materials are ones that minimise energy consumption and waste, and which can continue to be easily created or grown.

Where we build bespoke parts of our stands from wood, plastics, or other similar material, we actively seek to use materials that can be easily replenished or can be restocked with the least impact on the environment and carbon emissions.

You can be sure though that your stand will use materials that have been researched and are known to not only be friendly to the environment but also their aesthetics, weather and fire resistance, and durability all meet the stringent requirements of the exhibition and event industry.

Reusable, Low-Energy, Electrical Components

By investing in new sustainable technologies and developing existing products, Open Exhibitions ensures that sustainability in the provision of electrical services at exhibitions comes as an extremely valuable additional benefit; not at the expense of efficiency or practicality.

Open Exhibitions stands feature an integrated plug and play electrical system whose components, electrical cabling, sockets and lighting are 100% reusable. Further all our electrical components, cables, plugs, lights, connectors and distribution boxes are pre-assembled, have exceptionally long life spans, and can be re-cycled at the end of their economic use.

Our lighting and electrical systems use modern efficient technology such as LED to minimise our carbon footprint, resulting in a 90% reduction in energy consumption compared to traditional non-LED lighting, and we uniquely actively encourage energy efficient choices by exhibitors through a unique pricing structure which takes into account an exhibitors actual power usage.

We constantly monitor the development of sustainable electrical components and are committed to bring further new and exciting products to market at the earliest possible opportunity.

Lightweight and Efficient To Transport

Open Exhibitions stand components are light and efficient to transport enabling us to use the smallest vehicles possible in order to reduce emissions and fuel consumption.

Where larger shipments of stock are required, all components are designed to enable them to be efficiently and economically packed into bespoke stillages, maximising the volume of stock per truck movement and thus minimising transport movements and associated carbon emissions.

Sustainable From The Start

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond the physical products we use.

We help to minimise the use of paper and other office consumables by providing an online ordering system that has been designed from scratch to be easy and intuitive to use. It includes drag and drop placement, graphic upload with immediate stand visualisation, and the ability to order all furniture, carpet, audio-visual and other similar services.

As far as possible we arrange for the reuse or recycling of office waste, including paper, computer supplies and redundant equipment and reduce the energy consumption of office equipment by purchasing energy efficient equipment and good housekeeping.

And our approach to travel and meetings, along with our standard working practices are all designed to be fully compliant with the principles of international standard ISO 20121.

We have provided answers to some commonly asked questions below but if there is anything further you need, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Our base is in Warwick in the UK, where we operate from 20,000 sq. ft. premises that are close to major air, road and rail hubs for easy transport and shipping to venues worldwide.

Most of our work is within Europe and over 60% is outside the UK, but we also work regularly in the Middle East and in North America and have experience of building stands in many countries across the globe, following clients around the world to build their stand at different shows.

There is no set price for a stand, we aim to tailor your stand to suit both your specifications and budget requirements. On average, we believe that our unique combination of custom build and modular construction makes us around 25% cheaper than traditional exhibition design and build agencies.

Your project manager will be your single point of contact through the whole process and will oversee our complete service which should cover everything you require, from taking your brief, to coming up with ideas and message development, to delivering your stand at the event and dismantling your stand at the end of the show.

The project manager will handle related issues like the logistics of getting your exhibits to the venue and will happily project manage everything from one show to your whole portfolio if required. They will be able to answer any questions you may have and will liaise with the organisers on your behalf.

Each project manager reports directly to a Director of the company so that clients are never more than a phone call away from the owners of Open Exhibitions.

Yes – most of our stands are provided on hire but some clients prefer to buy their stands. Either is possible. We also have a light weight self build system called LITE. We offer this system to buy or rent. We can also update your LITE system graphics upon request so you can use the system at events for years to come.
